The completed work at a glance.

Project completed October 30, 2026. We installed an LRC RM-25EC evaporator and a Copeland M7JH-H029 condensing unit in this existing wine room. The split system uses R-134a refrigerant.

The work included securing the equipment, connecting refrigeration piping and electrical components, nitrogen brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, charging and startup checks. The system was installed and operational at completion.

The photographs show the original equipment, installation work and replacement units in the existing room.

01 / Before the changeout

The original wine cellar cooling system.

This wine room already had wood bottle racks, an indoor cooling unit near the ceiling and separate refrigeration equipment outside the home. The work focused on replacing the cooling equipment serving that existing room.

These two views document the original indoor unit before the changeout, including its position above the bottle racks and beneath the finished ceiling.

02 / During installation

Replacing both sides of the split system.

The new indoor evaporator serves the wine room above the existing racks. Outside, the replacement Copeland condensing unit sits on the equipment pad beside the home.

The installation photos show the indoor cabinet with its access cover open and the new outdoor equipment with service hoses attached.

A replacement LRC evaporator provides the indoor portion of the dedicated cooling system.

Outside the home

A separate Copeland condensing unit connects to the indoor equipment through refrigerant piping.

A closer look at the outdoor installation.

The wider photograph places the covered condensing unit in context beside the home’s stone exterior and landscaping. The closer view shows the original outdoor equipment before replacement, with its enclosure removed. Together, they document the outdoor half of this dedicated split system.

The indoor and outdoor photographs show different stages of the same installation. Open cabinets, exposed connections and service tools are installation details, not photographs of a finished enclosure. The covered outdoor unit and the indoor evaporator with its cover installed show the equipment after those covers were fitted.

What the replacement included.

This project paired an LRC RM-25EC rack-mount evaporator with a Copeland M7JH-H029 condensing unit. The evaporator is the indoor component visible above the existing wood racks. The condensing unit is separate from the wine room and is shown outside with a metal enclosure. This is a split-system wine cellar installation, with refrigerant piping connecting the two components.

The completed work record documents equipment mounting, refrigerant piping and electrical connections, copper brazing with nitrogen, pressure testing, evacuation and charging with R-134a. Startup and refrigeration operation were checked, and the system was recorded as installed and operational at completion.

This case study documents the equipment and work performed. It does not report a measured long-term room temperature or humidity trend. The project did not include building a new wine room, installing bottle racks or replacing the room’s decorative finishes.

Planning a replacement in an existing wine room

For a similar project, start with the actual installation: the indoor unit location, outdoor equipment, access to both components and the route between them. Photos of the equipment labels and an overview of the room help us understand what is already installed. Include any temperature changes, unusual sounds or water you have noticed, along with the thermostat setting.

That information gives the service visit a useful starting point. An evaluation can then establish whether the existing system needs a repair or a replacement proposal. This project’s model numbers document this particular installation; equipment selection for another room requires its own assessment.
