Fast symptom check

Tell us what the AC is doing.

These are the problems we handle every day. The symptom tells us where to start; the diagnosis tells us what actually failed.

🔥

Blowing Warm Air

System runs but the house keeps getting hotter or supply air is not cold.

🧊

Frozen Coil

Ice on the indoor coil or suction line, weak airflow, or a system that stops cooling.

💧

Water Leak

Overflowing drain pan, clogged condensate line, failed pump or water around the air handler.

🌬️

No Airflow

Blower problems, dirty wheel, electrical failure, filter restriction or duct/airside issue.

Won’t Start

Dead system, tripped breaker, failed capacitor, motor, contactor, control or compressor problem.

📉

Can’t Keep Up

Long run times, poor performance in the heat, dirty condenser, airflow or refrigeration issues.

Dirty AC blower wheel found during HVAC service
We diagnose airflow and refrigeration—not just the thermostat.
How we diagnose

We look at the whole system before recommending a repair.

A weak capacitor can look like a compressor problem. Low airflow can look like a refrigerant problem. A dirty condenser can drive pressures and temperatures out of range. Good service starts by separating the symptom from the cause.

Electrical and control checks
Blower, filter and airflow evaluation
Refrigerant pressures and temperature measurements when appropriate
Condenser and evaporator condition
Drainage, safety switches and condensate problems

Diagnose

We test the system and identify the actual failure instead of replacing parts by guesswork.

Review Options

We explain the problem, the repair path, and whether anything else should be addressed now.

Restore Cooling

When the repair is approved and parts are available, we work to get the system cooling again as quickly as practical.

Service options

Choose the service level that fits the situation.

Most service calls use our standard diagnostic. Priority service is available for qualifying calls when speed matters most.

Repair or replace?

We do not turn every breakdown into a system sale.

If the system is repairable and the repair makes sense, we repair it. Replacement becomes a serious discussion when the equipment is near the end of its life, has a major failed component, has repeated expensive failures, or repair cost no longer makes financial sense.

Repair when practical. Replace when it makes sense.

AC repair FAQ

Questions homeowners ask before booking.

How much is an AC service call?

Our standard AC service call is $89. A qualifying priority service call is $129.

What should I do if the AC is frozen?

Turn the cooling off and leave the indoor fan on if it can run safely. This helps melt the ice before the technician arrives and can prevent additional damage.

Do you offer emergency or priority AC service?

We offer qualifying priority service calls. Ask about availability and the 3-Hour Cold Air Guarantee when booking. Conditions apply.

Will you tell me if the AC should be replaced instead of repaired?

Yes. We compare the failure, age, condition and likely repair cost. If repair makes sense, we can repair it. If replacement is the better financial decision, we explain why.

Do you service systems you did not install?

Yes, in most cases. Very new systems installed by another contractor may still be covered by the original installer or builder warranty, so we may recommend starting there.

Do you service rental homes?

Service appointments must be authorized and scheduled by the homeowner or responsible property owner.

Cold air starts with a correct diagnosis.

If the house is hot, call Vivid Air DFW.

Tell us what the system is doing, how long it has been happening, and whether the equipment is running, leaking or frozen. We’ll help you get the right service scheduled.
