Ducted Wine Cellar Cooling
Installation in Colleyville.
Vivid Air DFW installed a dedicated ducted split-system wine cellar cooling system in Colleyville, Texas, in July 2026. The project placed the air handler in the attic and connected it to the wine room with ductwork.
Project at a glance: Colleyville, Texas · July 2026 · Ducted split-system installation · Attic-mounted air handler · Separate condensing unit
Wine cellar cooling with equipment outside the room
This installation used an attic-mounted air handler rather than placing the evaporator inside the wine room. Ductwork connects the cooling equipment to the cellar, while refrigerant piping connects the air handler to a separate condensing unit.
The project scope included equipment installation, new refrigerant piping, condensate drainage, control wiring and system startup. The installation plan also called for pressure testing, evacuation and charging to the equipment specifications.
Inside the installation
These photographs show work in progress. Open connections and unfinished details reflect the installation stage, not the final condition. We do not have finished-room photographs for this project.

Ductwork, drainage and access
The progress photographs document the attic equipment location, duct connection points and secondary drain pan. These details help explain the work behind a ducted wine cellar system: the cooling equipment is outside the room, but airflow, refrigeration piping, controls and condensate drainage still need to work together.
For a new project, we review the room and equipment location together. The route for insulated ductwork, access for future service, drain routing and electrical requirements all affect the installation plan. Room insulation, door sealing and moisture control also need attention during planning.
Recorded startup and follow-up
The July 2026 completion record states that the wine room system was installed and functioning properly. The homeowner was asked to monitor operation over the following days so airflow modifications could be made as needed.

Common questions
Can wine cellar cooling equipment be installed in an attic?
A ducted split-system design can place the wine cellar air handler outside the wine room, including in an attic when the equipment and installation conditions allow it. Equipment selection, insulated ducts, drainage and service access must be planned for the location.
Are these photographs of the finished installation?
No. These are installation-progress photographs from the Colleyville project. The completion record separately confirms the wine room system was installed and functioning, with homeowner monitoring and airflow adjustments planned as needed.
Do you install self-contained wine coolers?
Vivid Air DFW focuses on dedicated split-system wine cellar cooling with an indoor evaporator and a separate condensing unit. We do not service appliance-style wine refrigerators or self-contained wine coolers.
